About a year ago, a couple was arrested for the deaths of two innocent people after a high speed pursuit. The couple was on their way home from the ice skating rink and were pulled over by an officer and an FBI agent who were riding together in an unmarked SUV. The couple did not pull over and a high speed pursuit ensued. During the high speed pursuit, the couple identified as Darrell Lee Williams and Brittany Washington, ran a red light on the road leading to the freeway onramp. They ran a red light and collided with a minivan occupied with a family on their way home. The collision killed two of the occupants and injured the other three people. The couple was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. They were also responsible for more than $25,000 in damage against the city. The trial for this year old accident is set to begin next month and the couple has been held in jail since they were arrested. This shows that anything could happen at anytime that could change people’s lives forever.
